DR. EDWARD MILLER
As reflected in magazines, newspaper articles, and television, enhancement of one’s aesthetics through plastic surgery has become commonplace in today’s society. When someone is considering plastic surgery, should cosmetic dentistry also somehow figure into the equation?
Dr. Miller: Yes, definitely. I would strongly urge people who are considering plastic surgery to also consult with a cosmetic dentist as to what they ultimately want to achieve in their personal aesthetics. It is important for plastic surgeons and cosmetic dentists to collaborate on cases with shared patients, since each form of treatment must complement the other in order to bring about the patients’ desired results. Many of my patients, who have contemplated plastic surgery, have first sought cosmetic dental treatment in our office. They have been so pleased with the results we have achieved for them that they ultimately forego the pursuit of plastic surgery altogether—finding that the smile makeover created the aesthetic enhancement that they were seeking and that surgery may not be needed.
Many commercials that we see on television and magazines advocate the talents of dentists who were trained at the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). Is it important for people considering cosmetic dentistry to seek out LVI dentists?
Dr. Miller: Absolutely. LVI is the leading center in the nation, training dentists from all over the world on the latest, cutting edge techniques in cosmetic dentistry. Patients nowadays are highly educated and well-informed when it comes to their own healthcare needs—many of my patients have selected me to be their cosmetic dental provider based on the fact that I not only trained at LVI, but I also have served as a Senior Clinical Instructor at LVI for the past ten years. Each year, I personally train hundreds of dentists in the latest treatment options. Our patients feel comfortable and confident in the fact that they are being treated by a cosmetic dentist
